Burning Man Festival
Documentary on America's largest counter cultural event. This film is the first of two documentaries by Joe Winston on the Burning Man Festival, America's largest countercultural event. 'In style and substance, a terrific piece of work! Try to imagine a combination of Apocalypse Now, Woodstock and The Road Warrior." - Chicago Tribune, August 1996. For over ten years, this unique gathering has been held in a barren spot of the Nevada Desert. Attracting over 30,000 participants, the burning of the Man culminates a five-day carnival of artistic creativity and deviance from societal norms. Celebrants dress in costumes, strut naked, dance in the nude, create religions, race in rocket-powered cars, shoot automatic weapons, or do whatever it is they don't get enough of at home. The festival founder refers to this semi-structured anarchy as "a laboratory for reinventing civilization." Experience it on video its cooler and less dusty than actually going out to the desert.
A Documentary
"A Documentary" tells the story of fulfillment through life, death and stand-up comedy. 'A Documentary' features a series of stand-up comics in various stages of their dreams pursuit. From the professional comic, Jimmy Shubert (Go, Coyote Ugly, One Hour Photo) who reflects on being a national headliner to the seasoned veteran, Hope Colt, who offers the wisdom of just doing what you love. Intertwined in the story, May follows a person to their death and the reflections and emotions facing your mortality. These two seemingly unrelated stories come together at the end to tie the ultimate message that life is too short so fulfill your dreams.

Whose War?
Three leading peace activists (Mike Farrell, Jello Biafra, and Keith Gordon) attack the motives and consequences of the U.S. War in Iraq. With a body count of nearly three thousand U.S. soldiers, the U.S. invasion of Iraq has been seen by many as the ultimate folly of the Bush Administration. Now in the documentary "WHOSE WAR?" three leading American anti-war activists gather to disect the motives and fatal consequences of this, America's most controversial conflict since Vietnam. We follow musician and satirist Jello Biafra (former lead singer of THE DEAD KENNEDEYS) as he lampoons the Bush presidency during a packed California concert, then answers direct questions from our filmmakers. Mike Farrel (from tv's M*A*S*H and PROVIDENCE) finds evidence of purely cynical motives in "Mr. Bush's war," while leading director Keith Gordon (from tv's HOUSE) describes a self-serving and ultimately petty man in the nation's highest office. The views of this though-provoking trio makes "WHOSE WAR?" fascinating viewing.

No Human Rights
History has shown us that torture is inevitable. All over the world cruelty is breeding and feeding off of poverty, and fear. We hear and read about torture. We see tiny clips on the news but were disconnected from it, were unable to fully comprehend it exists because our lives revolve around a routine of guaranteed rights and freedoms. Its not until we see firsthand the killings, the beatings, the blindfolding and the faces behind them that we begin to comprehend the severity of torture. NO HUMAN RIGHTS exposes cultures that practice and accept torture as a means of extracting information from suspected criminals, escapees and innocent citizens. Governments working to keep people in exile, secret militias resorting only to violence and torture camps housing hate, all encourage the collapse of human rights. NO HUMAN RIGHTS contains intense footage of lives being twisted, families being torn apart and governments ignoring the general rights of humans.
